About Us

MaddyLisa Crafts is a small company (with a staff of one - Anne), offering competitive prices, friendly service and speedy dispatch of purchases.  I stock many brands of stamps, dies, inks, embossing folders, paper pads, card and lots of other paper crafting products. Some of the brands I stock are: Memory Box, Poppystamps, Impression Obsessions, Lawn Fawn, My Favourite Things, Tayloured Expressions, Marianne Designs, Joy Craft, Crafts Too, Frantic Stamper, Leanne Creatif, Amy Designs, Precious Marieke, Yvonne Creations, Jeanine's Art, Heartfelt Creations, The Stamp Doctor.

MaddyLisa's picture appears on the home page and she was CEO and inspiration for the shop......   As a rescued ex-racing greyhound she felt her training and previous career as an athlete equipped her well for the above position. She came to live with Anne and Russ in March 2004, when her racing career ended after she was knocked into the rails by another dog and suffered a broken pelvis.   MaddyLisa was just 3 years old and had lived all her life in racing kennels.

She was one of the lucky ones, her trainers were kind and ensured their dogs went on to good homes, many greyhounds are dumped or unlawfully killed when they can no longer race. Many are only 3 or 4 years old and greyhounds can live to be 14 or more. Greyhounds are very easy to live with and don't need lots of exercise.  They sleep a great deal, rarely bark and are very gentle, laid back dogs who don't pull on the lead.

Sadly MaddyLisa was diagnosed with kidney failure in May 2013 and although she fought hard to stay,  on 30th January 2014 it all became too much for her and we had to let her go. She passed away peacefully at home. Her family and vet were with her.

MaddyLisa  4.11.2000 - 30.1.2014

The web-site will go on as MaddyLisa Crafts and her picture will remain as a memorial to a wonderful, funny, loving and supportive friend, who just happened to be canine. Thank you to everyone who sent cards and messages, they were all greatly appreciated and it helped to think that MaddyLisa was so well known.

The additional picture is of the new applicant for the job of apprentice CEO. Her name is Holly and she's a  three year old Irish greyhound who lived in racing kennels but did not want to run. She was very lucky, if they won't race they are usually euthanized.  Holly arrived on the 14th April. 2014.
Holly settled in well and Poppy cat explained some of MaddyLisa's duties to her and helped her to feel at home. MaddyLisa and Poppy cat were devoted to each other and Poppy missed Maddy dreadfully but has taken to Holly and treats her just as she did MaddyLisa.
Holly can never be a replacement for MaddyLisa, who was very much loved and is greatly missed, but she will be loved for herself and helped take away the awful quiet which descended on the house when Maddy died.
I know MaddyLisa would be delighted that Holly, another unwanted greyhound, has come to live with us.

We have also taken on another dog, her name is Sunny and she is 12 years old.  This wasn't a decision we took, to adopt another dog, but sadly my uncle passed away and as he lived alone there was no one to look after Sunny.
Sunny was adopted from Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue eight months before John's death and they would have happily taken her back but she came to stay with us for 3 weeks while we saw what happened with John's illness and by the end of that time everyone, human and animal, had fallen in love with her!  EGLR do not have kennels, all the dogs are fostered out and live indoors with their fosterer.  They are a very caring group of people who knew John well and lots of them came to his funeral. Sunny's fosterer was a smashing lady called Alison and Sunny would have gone back to stay with her but she is such a lovely dog and she, Holly and Poppy get on very well together and I couldn't let her go!
